Cannes Lion / British Arrows awards for Times short film

The Times unquiet film I scored, “Bringing The World to Britain”, has added two more awards to its Shots Award ‘Best Branded Content’ : a bronze cyber lion at the Cannes Lions and a British Arrows Silver.

Amsterdam Film Festival

Update on the film “The Man Who Walked on The Moon”(dir Jenny Lu) that I scored last year : it has won Best Fantasy Film at the Amsterdam Film Festival’s Van Gogh Awards.

John Pickup / Matt Baker Duo album “Solace” released

The piano and bass duo album “JPMB – Solace” I recorded with Matt Baker at La Buisonne Studios is now out on Snibor Records. It’s available on cd from http://www.sniborrecords.com/catalogue.html (or from me directly) or as a digital release on itunes, google and other platforms.

The album features six of my compositions and one by Matt, plus film themes by Bernard Herrmann, Alex North and Ryuichi Sakamoto. And one tune from the Muppet Show.

London Short Film Festival 2015

The Man Who Walked On The Moon (dir : Jenny Lu), a short film I recently wrote the score for, is showing Tuesday 13 Jan at Hackney Picturehouse as part of the London Short Film Festival.

Walker Art Cat Video Festival draws 10,000

So it turns out Walker Arts Center’s Internet Cat Video Festival was a massive hit, with a fairly amazing 10,000 people turning up to the screening.

The Cat Video Festival is now set for further screenings at other locations, starting with a show at UMASS Boston on October 23rd.

Walker Art Center Internet Cat Video Film Festival

My youtube video Dramatic Cat (plus orchestral score) is being screened on August 30th as part of Walker Art Center’s Internet Cat Video Film Festival.

This event has received quite a lot of coverage, including reports from Guardian, BBC, LA Times, Wired, Huffington Post, Movieline, Mashable and all sorts of other people.
